Construction
The COELRT-U Edge Lit Combo Exit Sign housing is constructed from injection-molded thermoplastic housing with an etched, clear acrylic panel. Double sided panel comes as mirrored configuration. Lettering is 6” high with 3/4” stroke. Housing color options are black and white.
Illumination
The COELRT-U Combo Exit Sign Series delivers reliable, long-lasting LED illumination with a high-output LED board featuring both red and green options (with red set as the default). Equipped with two fully adjustable LED lamps, the unit provides a bright 460 lumens in battery mode, ensuring dependable emergency lighting when it’s needed most.
Emergency Operation
Upon failure of the normal utility power, an internal solid-state transfer switch automatically provides uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 120 minutes. The fully automatic solid-state, two-rate charger initiates battery charging to recharge a discharged battery in 24 hours.
Battery - Battery Backup
The COELRT-U series is designed with a 3.2V 3200mAh maintenance-free LiFePO4 battery providing a battery run-time of 120 minutes. With LiFePO4 batteries, safety is paramount – their formulation, lithium iron phosphate, is highly resistant to overheating and fire hazards. They are backed by an integrated battery management system (BMS) to prevent overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuiting, ensuring peace of mind for users. Recharge time of the battery is 24 hours.

Disclosure:
Spacing is measured in lab condition with an assumed open space, no obstruction and reflection rates of 80 (ceiling) / 50 (walls) / 20 (floor). Actual spacing may vary depending on what environment the fixture is installed in.
Self-Testing Option
This unit continuously self-checks for proper operation, with a multi-color LED indicator light that displays status conditions and updates automatically when corrected. The unit is **field-selectable for either self-testing or manual testing mode**, giving flexibility for different maintenance preferences. In self-test mode, the unit will automatically perform tests in emergency operation for up to the full 120-minute duration to ensure reliability during an actual power failure. In manual mode, tests can be initiated at any time using the external push-button test switch.

The unit operates with a universal input voltage of 120–277VAC, 50/60Hz, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of installations. An LED display indicates AC/ON status, while an external push-button test switch and charge indicator allow maintenance personnel to quickly verify operational performance. Powered by a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery, the system has a 24-hour recharge time and automatically switches to trickle charge once fully charged. The advanced circuit design includes brownout transfer, low-voltage battery disconnect, overload and short-circuit protection, and solid-state transfer for maximum reliability and safety.
