General Return Policy
Light Fixture Industries, Inc.® (“LFI Lights®”) stand behind every product we sell. While we understand that returns are sometimes necessary, we hope to encourage our customers to plan their purchases carefully, which will help them avoid having to go through the hassle of a return.
If the product has not been used or installed, is in its original packaging, and is in a condition that allows resale, it may be returned within 15 days of the receipt of your order for a refund, less a thirty-five percent (35%) restocking fee and the initial shipping cost. The product cannot have been installed or modified in any way. The product must be enclosed in the original box with sufficient packaging material to have protected both the product and product packaging so that they are in resalable condition, and have a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#), issued by us. LFI Lights® reserves the right to refuse any product returned without a properly authorized RMA. Approved refunds will be processed within 7 days via the original payment method.
To initiate the return process, send an e-mail clearly stating what you would like to return, the reason why you like to return it, and a copy of the invoice. If the item qualifies for a return, we will issue you an RMA number. After receiving the Return Merchandise Number (RMA#), the customer will have 15 days in which to return the product to LFI Lights® (we do not take title to returned items until the item arrives at our fulfillment center.). After 15 days, the Return Authorization will expire and no replacements or refunds will be given.

The following types of items and orders do not qualify for returns or refunds:
- Orders having an invoice total greater than $1,000.00 are not eligible to be returned.
- Items not purchased from LFI Lights® are not eligible to be returned.
- Special purchases, including (but not limited to): Self-luminous exit signs, bulbs, custom orders, or products that have been built to order are not eligible to be returned unless they have a manufacturer's defect.
Only items with a proper Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) may be returned. LFI Lights® reserves the right to refuse any item returned without a proper RMA. We do not guarantee replacement.
- Items are not eligible for return after 15 days from the date of shipment.
Approved returns will be processed within 7 days via the original payment method.
Return Policy for Products Damaged During Shipment and Defective Products
From the date of shipment receipt, you have fifteen (15) days in which to inspect and install the product(s) and inform LFI Lights®, via letter, fax, or email, of any defects in the manufacturing or damages that occurred during shipment, prior to delivery. If you determine your product is defective or was damaged during shipment, please follow the procedures for contacting the Order Desk. The Order Desk will give you the option to order a replacement or receive full credit for the defective or damaged goods. If you fail to notify LFI within fifteen (15) days of receipt of delivery of any defective or damaged merchandise, LFI is not responsible for the defective/damaged product and the product will not qualify for replacement or refund.
The Customer’s Responsibilities When Returning Products
When returning product(s) to LFI Lights® it is the customer’s responsibility to pack the product in the original box with sufficient packaging material to protect both the product and product packaging, and mark the shipping label with the issued Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#). Any item received damaged at LFI Lights® is the customer's responsibility and no replacement or refund will be issued. It is in the customer's best interest to insure the package (LFI Lights® will not reimburse insurance costs).
Policy for Products Damaged During the Return Shipment
Any item damaged during return shipment is the buyer’s responsibility. We will not issue a replacement for such an item. When we receive such an item, we will inform you via e-mail that the item was received damaged, and we will hold it for up to 45 days. You are responsible for filing a claim with the shipping carrier and instructing us concerning the disposition of the damaged item. If we do not receive a notification or response from you within 45 days, the item will be discarded without further processing.
The customer will be refunded once we have received the returned item and inspected the item for damage. Approved refunds will be processed within 7 days via the original payment method. We refund shipping costs (up to a maximum amount of $50) only if the return is a result of an error on the part of Light Fixture Industries, Inc.®
