Self luminous tritium exit signs do not require AC power nor do they require an ambient light source for charging. Tritium exit signs are completely self-contained, relying on radioluminescence to illuminate the letters of the sign. Since no AC power is required, installation is incredibly simple and does not require access to conduit, outlet, or the services of an electrician. Since no power is consumed, there are ZERO lifetime power consumption costs! Without any electronics or batteries, tritium exit signs also enjoy ZERO lifetime maintenance costs!
